Mersea Island

Year 8 Mersea Island April 2026

Fifty year 8 students attended an overnight stay at Mersea Island last week.  We had an exceptional time with all students engaging with the activities Caving, the Adventure course, Climbing, High Rope, Archery and the Giant Swing.  There were some students who achieved personal goals particularly on the high ropes by conquering fears of height, some students showed strong athletic ability and some students who surprised us with their enthusiasm and willingness to have a go.  Staff were particularly impressed by the team effort the students showed and how encouraging they were of each other.  Our final activity on the Giant Swing saw Mr Amponsah and Mr Uzeke fall from a great height whilst being cheered by the whole group.
