Gaynes students visited St Paul's Cathedral as part of their Religious Studies GCSE. It proved to be a fascinating insight into Christian beliefs and practices. Pupils had a guided tour of the Cathedral with references being made to examples of religious symbolism / interpretation as well as witnessing Mass which was taking place while we were visiting.

The highlight was the question and answer with the Dean with covering thematic issues of capital punishment, women and the Church, poverty, relationships and faith.  Our students asked some very insightful questions and a very good discussion took place.

It was quite awe inspiring to walk in a Cathedral that has seen so many historical and national events of significance.

Next year we hope to take the same students to a local mosque so that they can compare the places of worship of two major world religions.
