BLACK BRITISH LITERATURE WORKSHOP AT THE BRITISH LIBRARY
BackYear 10 attended a great workshop at the British Library St Pancras with a focus on Black British Literature. They spent the day exploring the library, finding out how to become a member and attended a special workshop about the wealth of Black British authors who have changed the face of British writing forever. Starting in 1550 and spanning the centuries to 2025, students enjoyed learning about the rich narratives that have been inspired by Britain’s finest. They had to design and curate an exhibition based on a range of books and even requested a few to be ordered into the school library. They enjoyed taking charge of their own exhibit and chose the book they preferred for the exhibit.
