February 28th 2024

The Year 9 cohort took part in a “hard hitting” workshop assembly about Knife Crime given by the Police, Ambulance service and an independent speaker with personal connection to losing a family member to Knife crime. Each of the services gave an overview of what happens at the scene of an incident and re-iterated why carrying a knife is not the correct choice. The independent speaker was the pinnacle  of the morning, with his personal and passionate plea not to get involved in Knife crime having lost his brother ten years ago to a Year 10 pupil when who carried a knife to sort out an argument at school. The presenters were very passionate about their cause and the pupils carried away with them the seriousness of such an emotive, sensitive and important topic.
