Students attended a conference to view opportunities for ‘Women in Technology’, hosted by the London Borough of Havering at CEME on 24th September. Girls taking Triple Science and DT attended from Year 10 and Year 11.
During the day we listened to several inspiring speakers that included Gen Ashley, Director for Women That Code, Amelia Kallman, Futurist, Vicky Forbes, IT trainer and Kobnstantina Tagkopolou from the company Zapper.
We had a chance to see some of the future technological developments with virtual reality playing a large part in that. The girls got to experience some of the equipment and see what kinds of careers are available in this area and the possible routes to get into these professions.
It was a great day that provided strong inspiration for possible future pathways.
