Within the month of January our students took part in the following activities:

  • Pupils from Year 7,8,9 were trained how to be ‘street doctors’ in event of knife crime
  • Year 9 and 11 had their parents evenings which were very well attended
  • Mr Amin supported James Oglethorpe Year 5 G and T maths groups as part of Gaynes Primary liason work
  • Year 10 completed the fast tomato careers exercise to signpost them towards colleges, universities and careers available to suit their interest
  • Year 10 had a mock interviews with business people supporting Gaynes
  • PSCHE topics covered were: Puberty, random acts of kindness, British values, sexting, exam stress, media impact on young people, self harm, post 16 options, body image, CSE, Human rights, radicalisation, The Holocaust, Knife crime, HHealthy relationships

Assembly topics covered were:

  • Values
  • Celebrating diversity
  • Holocaust memorial day
  • Cross cultural heroes

We visited the following places:

  • Year 11 GCSE Geography groups visited Walton on the Naze
  • Year 11 visited Queens College, Cambridge University
  • Year 10 visited Anglia Ruskin University
