Gaynes School celebrates two Jack Petchey winners

Back
December 6th 2021

Our headboy Solomon Sankoh recently participated in the grand final of the Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge on the stage of the Cambridge Theatre in London's west end. Solomon's speak entitled Never Giving Up won the award for third place - putting him as the third best public speaker of all students in London and Essex.

We are especially proud, as Solomon fitted in the event with his mock exams.  Earlier that day he had sat exams in Maths and History - and he was at school the following day for English Language and Biology.

Another of our year eleven students, senior prefect Callum Constantine is celebrating his second Jack Petchey Award for sports leadership for the work he does outside of school as a cricket coach with Belhaus Cricket Club in North Stifford, Essex.  He too has fitted in his sporting achievements alongside his academic work, balancing his love of cricket with his hard work in lessons towards his GCSEs.

Everybody at Gaynes School is extremely proud of Callum and Solomon.
